The 28th breed in our dog of the day series is the Boston Terrier!
This breed is truly all American, developed in the stables of Boston following the Civil War. The Boston Terrier is a cross between an English Bulldog and a white English Terrier and is often called “the American Gentleman” because of the breed’s dapper “tuxedo” coat and gentle disposition.
In the late 1800s, Robert C. Hooper’s dog, Judge, became known as the “ancestor of all true modern Bostons.”
